About
I was born and raised in Winchester, Virginia. I attended the University of Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government and American Politics with a Minor in History. After college, I worked in the Virginia General Assembly House of Delegates as a Legislative Aide. I then earned my Juris Doctor from Widener Commonwealth School of Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 2025 and joined the firm shortly thereafter.
I have always been drawn to problem solving — the law, at its core, is a series of puzzles. I was drawn to the practice of family law because it offers the opportunity to apply my analytical instinct in service of people who need it most. My path to family law was shaped by a wide range of legal experiences, from interning at the Virginia and Pennsylvania Offices of the Attorney General, to working as a certified legal intern at the Lebanon County District Attorney’s Office. Each experience deepened my understanding of how the law affects real people and reinforced my commitment to purposeful, client-centered advocacy.
My Approach to a Case
Family law cases involve some of the most important things in a person’s life — their children, their marriage, their future. I approach every case with that weight in mind. On my first day at Buchbauer & McGuire, Pete gave me a piece of advice that has shaped how I practice: think of yourself as a shepherd, guiding clients through some of the most difficult times of their lives and getting them to the other side as intact as possible. I understand that family law cases require more than just legal skill, the client also needs to know you’re in their corner ready to fight beside them. I believe preparation, clear communication, and honest counsel are the foundations of effective representation. Whether a matter calls for negotiation or litigation, I bring the same focused, client-first approach to every case.
Background and Current Practice
My legal training placed a strong emphasis on trial advocacy and litigation. At Widener Commonwealth, I completed my degree with a concentration on Trial Advocacy, competed on the National Trial Competition Team, and served as Vice President of the Trial Advocacy Honor Society. I was also a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and recognized with the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Student Advocacy Award and the Public Interest Initiative Pro Bono Service Award — both in 2022.
Personal Life
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my family locally, my husband, Andrew, and our black lab, Lucy — who can sometimes be found here in the office with me on quiet days. I remain connected to the Winchester and Frederick County communities and I’m proud to now serve the families of the region I’ve always called home.
